Department Description

The Development Department focuses on securing funding and building relationships to support the organization’s mission. This includes fundraising, grant writing, event planning, and constituent relations, all aiming to generate revenue and ensure the organization’s long-term viability. 

Job Description

Felton’s Research Content Writer I collaborates with other team members and program personnel to support the production of impactful content, project-specific research, and responses to public/private funding opportunities. Additionally, the role supports external project opportunities and performs other duties within the Development framework.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree. An equivalent combination of training and experience may substitute for education.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and grammar.
  • Strong research skills, including identifying reliable sources and gathering relevant information.
  • Adaptability to different writing styles and tones to fit various platforms and audiences.
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Creativity and the ability to generate original ideas and compelling narratives.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to produce content, spreadsheets, slides, and standard work documents.

Additional Information:

Reports to: Director of Development

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Schedule: Hybrid – In Office 3 to 4 days per week

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $71,000- $73,000 Annually (DOE)
