Marketing & Multimedia Specialist Full-time

Essential Functions:

Marketing

  1. Develops, writes, and executes social media campaigns according to College standards.
  2. Analyzes and reports on social media performance metrics, using insights to adjust campaigns for optimal reach and engagement.
  3. Assists in planning and executing college events and helps coordinate participation in community events.
  4. Assists the Marketing Department in maintaining the College’s branding, marketing materials, online presence, and other marketing efforts to maximize the College’s exposure and functionality.
  5. Contributes to the college’s events team.
  6. Other duties and roles as assigned.

Videography/Photography

  1. Serves as the campus videographer/photographer.
  2. Creates promotional video and photography assets.
  3. Records and edits all of the College’s promotional video material.
  4. Maintains comprehensive expertise for all camera equipment and is responsible for its maintenance and organization.
  5. Catalogs and organizes all assets for college use.

Environmental Factors:

Conventional Educational Environment. In some programs, employees may occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals and the hazards associated with their respective industry equipment.

Qualifications: 

To perform at a proficient level and to be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Strong writing ability with experience developing and delivering presentations.
    • Energetic, outgoing, and self-motivated with the ability to thrive in dynamic environments.
    • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
    • Proficiency in web and mobile applications, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube.
    • Schedule flexibility to meet production needs and deadlines.
    • Proficiency with camera equipment for photo and video production.
    • Advanced proficiency with editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro.
    • Ability to lift and carry event materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
  3. Portfolio: Applicants must submit a portfolio demonstrating their work, including videos they have independently shot, edited, and produced, as well as samples of photography and writing.
  4. Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check.

Job Summary:

The Marketing & Multimedia Specialist supports the College’s Mission to serve students, employers, and the College community. The primary responsibility of the Marketing & Media Specialist at Southwest Tech is to assist the Marketing Department with all marketing efforts and in promoting the college. They create and manage the College’s social media, help plan and execute events, and are in charge of creating, editing, and cataloging all in-house media (video and photography) for College use and promotion. This hands-on, production-focused position requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing a high volume of projects and tight deadlines. The schedule for this position occasionally requires after-hours or weekend availability to meet production needs.
