Overview

We are seeking an Excel Data Comparison Specialist to support our client projects. This role focuses on comparing data from two systems (commonly payroll, HR, or accounting) to identify and report variances. Accuracy, speed, and problem-solving are key, as these projects often require fast turnaround.

Over time, the specialist will learn our processes, gain familiarity with the vendors we work with, and help us explore more efficient ways to manage and validate data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compare and reconcile datasets from different systems to identify discrepancies.
     
  • Produce clear, easy-to-read variance reports in Excel/CSV.
     
  • Handle quick-turnaround projects (sometimes same-day).
     
  • Learn and follow our internal processes across multiple vendors (Paylocity, ADP, Paycor, etc.).
     
  • Recommend process improvements or automation opportunities for greater efficiency.
     

Required Skills & Experience

  • Advanced Excel skills (formulas, lookups, pivot tables, conditional formatting, etc.).
     
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
     
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively under tight deadlines.
     
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background with HR, Payroll, or Accounting data.
     
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Power Query, VBA, or other data management tools.
     
  • Experience creating reusable templates or streamlined processes for data comparison.

  • Flexible schedule, but must be available to accommodate urgent turnaround requests.

Salary Description

$18-$25 per hour
