Shipping Department Job Description The Shipping Department plays a crucial role in ensuring an efficient and seamless online order fulfillment process. Team members are responsible for managing the end-to-end workflow of online orders, maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism in every aspect of their work. Below are the key responsibilities and expectations for this role. Primary Focus Efficient and accurate fulfillment of online orders. Responsibilities 1. Order Review Carefully review all incoming online orders for accuracy and legitimacy. Flag medium fraud risk orders to the Customer Service Representative (CSR). Report any suspicious orders or repeat customer orders to the CSR for further investigation. Report/investigate any address issues; if needed, send to CSR for further investigation. 2. Product Handling Collect all items included in the customer’s order. Take detailed images of each product from specified angles as directed by the Fulfillment Supervisor. Upload product images to the order’s timeline in Shopify to maintain accurate records. 3. Shipping Ensure all orders are shipped promptly and correctly. Orders placed before the daily FedEx pickup must be shipped on the same day. Orders placed after the FedEx pickup will be shipped the following business day. 4. Processing Returns and Exchanges Follow established return and exchange protocols. Notify the CSR immediately if returned products do not meet the conditions outlined in the return policy. 5. Order Mentions Monitor and respond promptly to Shopify mentions to address order-specific issues or updates. 6. Organization and Maintenance Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Collaborate with the Receiving Department to ensure the warehouse is clean and orderly. Inform the Fulfillment Supervisor when shipping supplies, such as boxes or labels, need replenishment. 7. Downtime Notify the Store Manager when all immediate duties have been completed. Be proactive in assisting with delegated tasks or other areas as needed. Performance Expectations Ensure accuracy in order fulfillment to maintain customer satisfaction. Prioritize efficiency while upholding quality standards. Be on time to work and maintain professionalism at all times. Maintain open communication with team members and supervisors. Proactively identify and resolve issues that could impact the fulfillment process.
