Summary:
The WTA is looking for a Creative Content Producer to bring the tour to life with fast-moving, engaging coverage that blends video with sharp, digital-first writing. This role is focused on enhancing WTAtennis.com, the WTA app and other digital platforms, ensuring that the best moments — from on-court brilliance to offbeat player stories — are captured and transformed into compelling content.
Using WSC Sports Technologies, this person will create highlight reels, app stories, and quick-hit video while also crafting the lively captions, headlines and copy that give those moments personality. While the role requires an understanding of social media trends, the primary focus is on website and app storytelling.
This position goes beyond match coverage, bringing a fresh, creative approach to digital storytelling — whether it’s Aryna Sabalenka serving ice cream at Indian Wells, Iga Swiatek breaking down her playlist or Coco Gauff sharing her Oscars experience. The focus is on engaging, snackable storytelling that makes WTAtennis.com and WTA’s digital platforms a must-visit destination for fans.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Produce custom video reels, app stories, and highlight clips using WSC to enhance the content experience on WTAtennis.com and the WTA app.
- Write sharp, engaging digital copy that boosts engagement and click-through rates, with a focus on crafting headlines, captions, and short-form content optimized for web and mobile audiences.
- Develop automation rules to ensure key moments seamlessly integrate into WTAtennis.com and other WTA digital products.
- Work closely with editors and web content teams to maintain a balance between traditional coverage and creative digital storytelling.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across social media, video production, and digital to align on content goals, objectives, and themes, ensuring a cohesive approach across platforms.
- Contribute to membership-exclusive digital content, such as polls, interactive video elements, and behind-the-scenes clips.
- Stay ahead of digital media trends, bringing fresh ideas to how WTAtennis.com and the WTA app engage their audience.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, Media Relations or similar required.
- 5–7 years of experience in digital content creation, multimedia storytelling, or online publishing, required to be in sports
- Experience using WSC and other digital media tools to create engaging real-time content.
- Experienced in creating digital content for websites and apps, with an understanding of how video and writing come together in an online experience.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong writing and editorial skills, particularly for digital and mobile platforms.
- Deep understanding of sports media trends and how to enhance digital engagement through creative storytelling
- Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- A natural storyteller with a proven ability to drive engagement by crafting standout video titles, compelling headlines, and punchy captions that resonate with digital audiences.
- Passionate about sports and digital-first storytelling, with a track record of creating content that increases fan interaction and amplifies brand reach across platforms.
- Skilled at managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, consistently meeting tight deadlines and adapting content strategies in a fast-paced, real-time environment.
- Uphold WTA Core Values: Be Progressive, Collaborative, Passionate, and show Integrity. These core values set the tone in everything we do, help us succeed on and off the court, make a difference in the community and create a premier, compelling global sport entertainment experience. It is important that the person in the position commits themselves to these core values so that we can constantly move forward in the same direction – Together.
